American CNG Helps Convert Airplane Tugs to Run on Natural Gas

American CNG Helps Convert Airplane Tugs to run on Natural Gas.

Denver Airport has been converting and maintaining their large CNG fleet of over 1,750 vehicles since 2013. They received the Natural Gas Vehicle Achievement award in 2014 and continue to grow their CNG fleet. This fleet also included a handful of Airplane tugs.

American CNG provided the high pressure components for many of these types of vehicles. While traveling last week, we were excited to see the parts we supplied “in action” at the Denver airport during a layover.

The airport fleet includes large snow removal vehicles, aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicles, forklifts, cranes, and light-duty vehicles to smaller equipment such as concrete saws. About 29% of Denver airport’s fleet is powered with alternative fuels.

We love seeing all the awesome projects our parts are installed on!
